Strengthening Sustainable Investment in EMEA

BlackRock has named Louise Kooy-Henckel as the EMEA Head of Sustainable and Transition Solutions (STS). Based in London, she will report to Global Head of STS Helen Lees-Jones and lead efforts to expand BlackRock’s sustainable investment strategies in the region.

In an internal memo, Lees-Jones and Stephen Cohen, BlackRock’s Chief Product Officer, stated:

“We are delighted that Louise Kooy-Henckel joins BlackRock as EMEA Head of Sustainable and Transition Solutions (STS) to lead the team and our growth in a region where client demand for sustainable and transition investing is greatest. 100% of our largest client relationships in Europe have made net zero commitments for their organizations.”

A Strong Track Record in ESG Leadership

Kooy-Henckel previously served as Managing Director and Investment Director, Sustainable and Impact Investments, EMEA at Wellington Management, where she led ESG research, impact investing, and climate strategies. Before that, she spent nearly 20 years at JPMorgan Asset Management, including leading the Global Equities client portfolio management team.

BlackRock’s Expanding Sustainable Investments

With over 500 sustainable and transition investment strategies and more than $1 trillion in sustainable assets under management, BlackRock continues to strengthen its position in ESG investing.

Lees-Jones and Cohen emphasized the role of the STS team in driving the firm’s sustainability strategy:
