It\u2019s a commitment to the present and future generations,\u201d said Juan Carlos Monterrey, National Director of Climate Change at the Ministry of Environment (MiAMBIENTE).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>By requiring climate impact assessments before any major public or private investment, Panama aims to safeguard its ecosystems and steer its economy toward long-term resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-take-part\">How to take part<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In compliance with the National Transparency Law, the public consultation runs for a minimum of 20 business days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-regional-workshops\">Regional workshops<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe will be present throughout the country: Col\u00f3n, Bocas del Toro, Chiriqu\u00ed, Panam\u00e1 Province, Veraguas, and the regions of Guna Yala and Ng\u00e4be Bugl\u00e9. We want to hear from all sectors: civil society, the business community, experts, and local stakeholders,\u201d Monterrey added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>In-person consultations begin in two weeks, following initial virtual sessions.
