Tax credits for domestic battery manufacturing remain, while credits for home energy systems are expiring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-startups-are-adapting\">How startups are adapting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For Ateios Systems, a startup designing electrodes without toxic chemicals, the bill\u2019s domestic manufacturing provisions are a boost. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s helping our business [from the domestic manufacturing perspective] but it\u2019s not the only thing,\u201d<\/em> said <strong>CEO Rajan Kumar.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Harvest Thermal, which makes smart HVAC systems, faces both challenges and opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em> \u201cWhile the loss of 25D creates headwinds, it has also encouraged us to deepen our partnerships with state and local programs, where we see much of the momentum shifting anyway,\u201d<\/em> said <strong>co-founder and CFO Jane Melia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>California is stepping in, offering up to $25,000 in combined incentives for systems like Harvest\u2019s, while other credits such as 48E for advanced HVAC systems extend through 2033. \u201cPolicy shifts like this remind us that incentives come and go, but customer value must remain permanent,\u201d Melia added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-case-for-cautious-optimism\">The case for cautious optimism<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite federal shifts, venture firms see opportunity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cWhile we invest in companies with strong fundamentals that don\u2019t depend on policy incentives, having these provisions enshrined in law reduces risk and eliminates countless hours of discussions to build confidence,\u201d<\/em> said Banchik of Voyager.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Kra of Prelude Ventures<\/strong> echoed that sentiment: <em>\u201cMarkets will come roaring back, and companies that meet that moment with unit economics will be poised for growth and tremendous financial success.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Looking ahead<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For now, climate tech is navigating a period of pause and recalibration. Early-stage founders face tougher questions, investors are weighing risk more carefully, and policy incentives are shifting from federal to state and regional levels.
