Enfinity Global has signed a decade-long agreement with VW Kraftwerk GmbH, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, to supply 400 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of renewable Guarantees of Origin (GOs) from its solar power plants in Italy—bolstering Volkswagen’s drive toward carbon-neutral mobility across Europe.

Powering Volkswagen’s Transition to Carbon-Neutral Mobility

Under the agreement, VW Kraftwerk will purchase approximately 40 GWh of GOs per year for ten years. Each Guarantee of Origin certifies that an equivalent amount of electricity was produced from renewable sources and delivered to the grid, effectively reducing the lifecycle CO₂ emissions associated with Volkswagen’s growing fleet of electric vehicles.

“We are honored to support the Volkswagen Group as it transitions its electric vehicle fleet to be carbon neutral and in advancing the transformation of mobility across Europe,” said Carlos Domenech, CEO of Enfinity Global. “Enfinity is committed to being a long-term sponsor of innovative and scalable energy solutions—from 24×7 PPAs to Guarantees of Origin—that bring value to our customers.”

Strengthening Europe’s Renewable Energy Ecosystem

The partnership highlights the growing importance of Guarantees of Origin as a tool for corporate sustainability and transparent reporting. These certificates enable companies to verify and disclose the renewable origin of their energy consumption in line with European sustainability regulations.

“Guarantees of Origin are a transparent and effective tool to promote renewable energy adoption and accelerate the energy transition,” said Julio Fournier Fisas, Enfinity’s General Manager for Europe. “This collaboration is a strong example of how cross-sector partnerships can generate measurable environmental impact and drive progress toward climate neutrality in Europe.”

Enfinity’s Expanding Role in Europe’s Energy Transition

Enfinity Global is among the fastest-growing renewable energy developers in Europe, with a global project pipeline of 37 gigawatts (GW) and a strong presence in Italy. The company’s Italian portfolio alone includes more than 8.6 GW of solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems, contributing directly to national decarbonization and energy security targets.

Through this agreement, Enfinity strengthens its position as a strategic partner for multinational corporations seeking to integrate renewables into their operations. The deal also underscores a broader market shift toward energy traceability and ESG compliance, as European industries align with the continent’s 2030 and 2050 climate goals.
