This initiative, supported by the <strong>Climate Finance Network (CFN)<\/strong> and <strong>Accelerating Green and Climate Finance (AGCF) Project<\/strong>, is funded by the <strong>United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (UK FCDO)<\/strong> and the <strong>Government of Canada<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mobilizing-climate-finance-for-action\">Mobilizing Climate Finance for Action<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The climate finance strategy will link financial resources to actionable climate change projects across various sectors, including <strong>infrastructure, agriculture, energy<\/strong>, and <strong>transportation<\/strong>. At a workshop led by UNDP and the <strong>Philippine Department of Finance (DOF)<\/strong>, members of the <strong>Inter-Agency Task Force on Sustainable Finance (Green Force)<\/strong> and other stakeholders gathered to discuss how best to advance the climate finance agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr. Selva Ramachandran<\/strong>, UNDP Philippines Resident Representative, emphasized the urgency of financing to address the climate crisis:<br><em>&#8220;The effects of the recent typhoons remind us why Sustainable Development Goal No. 13 or Climate Action is urgently needed in the Philippines.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The strategy aims to <strong>consolidate funds<\/strong> from various sources and align spending with the Philippines\u2019 <strong>National Adaptation Plan (NAP)<\/strong> and <strong>Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)<\/strong>. Increasing the quantity, quality, and accessibility of financing is a priority.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, <strong>John Lok<\/strong>, Head of Cooperation at the Embassy of Canada to the Philippines, expressed Canada\u2019s commitment to supporting the country\u2019s transition to a sustainable economy:<br><em>&#8220;Canada will continue to support countries including the Philippines in their efforts to transition to low-carbon, climate-resilient economies.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-strengthening-collaboration-and-future-goals\">Strengthening Collaboration and Future Goals<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The strategy workshop, attended by representatives from <strong>national government agencies<\/strong>, <strong>private sector stakeholders<\/strong>, and <strong>international organizations<\/strong> like the <strong>Asian Development Bank<\/strong>, centered on enhancing collaboration across sectors.
