One operator highlighted the severity of the issue by cutting ties with 50% of suppliers unable to meet traceability requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Successful compliance demands robust due diligence frameworks, strategic supplier engagement, and leadership committed to transparency and regulatory readiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThe EUDR may be delayed, but we have worked hard to ensure we can meet new requirements and see a huge competitive advantage in being able to do so,\u201d<\/em> said a South American exporter and European importer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-role-and-limits-of-ai\">The Role and Limits of AI<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Artificial intelligence (AI) can streamline compliance efforts, automating data collection and analysis. However, it cannot replace critical human judgment in risk management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dutch EUDR specialist Eduard de Boer<\/strong> emphasized AI\u2019s limitations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cSome companies market AI as a decision-making tool, claiming it can deliver compliance with a \u2018green check mark.\u2019 That\u2019s a dangerous oversimplification. The Netherlands\u2019 competent authority has made it clear they won\u2019t accept risk assessments based on AI alone.
