Panama City, Panama – SDG News is preparing for world leaders, investors, and climate innovators as they make their way to Panama City, hosts for Nature Summit 2025, a high-level event during UN Global Climate Week poised to shape the future of sustainable finance and environmental policy. Held at the intersection of biodiversity and global trade, the Summit brings together an unmatched mix of public and private sector leadership—including representatives from over 180 governments, 50+ family offices, and leading corporations driving the next wave of climate and capital convergence.

Maersk’s Decarbonization Strategy Takes the Stage

Among the most anticipated speakers is Robert Mærsk Uggla, Chairman of A.P. Møller-Mærsk, who will offer expert insights on decarbonizing maritime logistics and global supply chains. Maersk has pioneered the adoption of green methanol-fueled container vessels and continues to lead the shipping industry with science-based net-zero targets.

Maersk made headlines this week with the launch of the world’s first commercial-scale e-methanol plant in Denmark. The fuel will help power Maersk’s dual-fuel vessels, while companies like Lego and Novo Nordisk will also use the e-methanol to reduce emissions across their supply chains.

Intimate Access for Climate-Aligned Investors

The Nature Summit stands out for its direct investor access, offering private sessions with over 50 family offices focused on sustainable land use, blue carbon, regenerative agriculture, and ocean conservation. These capital allocators will meet face-to-face with government ministers, Indigenous leaders, and climate scientists to advance policy-driven investment.

Confirmed Participants Include:

  • Robert Mærsk Uggla, Chairman, Maersk
  • H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco
  • Jennifer Morris, CEO, The Nature Conservancy
  • Amit Bouri, CEO, GIIN
  • Carlos Manuel Rodríguez, CEO, GEF
  • Representatives from the Green Climate Fund, OECD, and World Bank
  • Ministers of Environment and Climate from Panama, Brazil, Colombia, Kenya, Indonesia, and Norway

A Platform for Scaling Nature-Based Solutions

With over 180 governments represented, the Nature Summit will function as a diplomatic and financial engine room to accelerate action on the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, advance blue and forest finance mechanisms, and support global efforts toward net-zero.
Agenda highlights include sessions on:

  • Blue bonds and blended finance for climate resilience
  • Carbon credit market reforms
  • Expansion of marine protected areas
  • Mangrove restoration and nature-positive shipping
