A New Resource for Inclusive Business

The United Nations Global Compact has unveiled the Non-Discrimination and Equality Analysis Tool, a self-assessment platform designed to help companies evaluate and advance workplace equality. The user-friendly, anonymous tool guides businesses through thirteen performance areas, identifying gaps, tracking progress, and embedding equality policies across operations.

“Companies have both a responsibility and a powerful opportunity to foster workplaces where everyone can thrive — regardless of race, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion, or background. This tool will help companies assess where they stand and what more they can do to embed non-discrimination and equality in their culture and operations,” said Sanda Ojiambo, CEO and Executive Director of the UN Global Compact.

Aligning with Global Principles

Non-discrimination is a core human right enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and central to the UN Global Compact’s Principles 1 and 6, which call on businesses to respect human rights and eliminate workplace discrimination. The new tool offers a structured, confidential method for aligning with these principles and relevant legal frameworks.

Research consistently shows that diverse and inclusive companies outperform peers in innovation, employee engagement, and financial results.
