The company also plans to <strong>measure net positive outcomes in key hotspots by 2035<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2024, Kering became one of the first companies to set <strong>validated science-based targets for nature<\/strong> under the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN), including a freshwater quantity goal for direct operations and upstream suppliers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-focus-on-priority-water-basins\">Focus on Priority Water Basins<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Kering\u2019s new strategy zeroes in on <strong>10 priority water basins<\/strong> critical to its operations. Efforts will center on working with <strong>local stakeholders<\/strong> to improve <strong>water quality, quantity, and accessibility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key initiatives include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sourcing materials like recycled fabrics to ease pressure on water sources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reducing pollution and replenishing water used in operations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborating with suppliers on shared water challenges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adopting technologies like <strong>chrome-free and low-impact tanning agents<\/strong> to boost water efficiency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-launching-water-resilience-labs\">Launching Water Resilience Labs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To deepen impact, Kering will establish <strong>Water Resilience Labs<\/strong> in ten water-stressed regions where it operates. The first lab will open later this year in the <strong>Arno basin in Tuscany<\/strong>, home to many of Kering\u2019s tanneries and supplier tanneries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Marie-Claire Daveu, Chief Sustainability and Institutional Affairs Officer at Kering<\/strong>, emphasized:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;The need for responsible corporate water stewardship to stay within the planetary boundaries has never been more urgent.
