However, concerns over marine ecosystem impacts have hindered large-scale deployment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-global-collaboration-for-safe-scaling\">A Global Collaboration for Safe Scaling<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The two-year project will involve designing, refining, and testing a framework to assess environmental risks and benefits across multiple mCDR methods. Fugro will work alongside US-based Integral Consulting and the UK\u2019s National Oceanography Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cWe\u2019ve spent decades helping industries assess and manage environmental risks in offshore environments,\u201d<\/em> said <strong>C\u00e9line Gerson, Fugro\u2019s Group Director for the Americas and President of Fugro USA<\/strong>. <em>\u201cNow we\u2019re applying that expertise to help ensure mCDR is done responsibly and earns public trust.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-framework-launch-set-for-2027\">Framework Launch Set for 2027<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The final framework will be publicly released in 2027.
