Obligations remain in place, and stakeholders still demand credible climate action. Those who remain committed will stand out as others pause or pivot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-engage-across-the-supply-chain\">2. Engage Across the Supply Chain<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Most corporate emissions come from Scope 3 \u2014 often in the supply chain. Sustainability officers cannot create accurate decarbonisation plans without understanding upstream and downstream carbon exposure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Direct engagement with top suppliers and partners is key. The responsibility is mutual: just as companies assess supplier emissions, clients and partners increasingly expect transparency on your footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-scope-3-rules-are-coming-prepare-now\">3. High\u2011integrity voluntary carbon markets (VCMs) can help offset these residuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carbon removal credits are in high demand and increasingly expensive. Large buyers secure them through long\u2011term contracts, leaving fewer available in the open market. A well\u2011defined procurement strategy is essential to secure high\u2011quality credits at the best prices as VCM standards and prices evolve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-5-track-ai-s-carbon-footprint\">5. Track AI\u2019s Carbon Footprint<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Artificial intelligence is now embedded in daily operations \u2014 and with it comes a carbon footprint. While disclosure of AI emissions is not yet mandated, methodologies are emerging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Forward\u2011thinking companies are testing early\u2011stage tools to quantify AI\u2011related emissions now, ensuring they\u2019re ready if disclosure rules or supply chain expectations require it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Bottom Line<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>ESG may face headwinds, but regulatory obligations, stakeholder pressure, and new disclosure demands aren\u2019t going away.
