When one fifth of globally traded oil moves through a single chokepoint, conflict does not stay contained. It moves through shipping lanes, insurance markets, inflation data and sovereign balance sheets. Within days, geopolitical risk has translated into economic consequence.
For leaders navigating multilateral affairs, the question is not only how this war unfolds, but what it reveals. How resilient is the global energy system. How exposed are national economies to concentrated supply corridors. How coordinated are the mechanisms designed to stabilize markets in moments of stress. Energy security, economic stability and diplomatic cohesion are no longer parallel tracks. They are intertwined pillars of resilience.
