Marking a major milestone in global environmental leadership, Panama is set to host the inaugural Nature Summit from May 19-22, 2025, in Panama City, taking place alongside the UNFCCC’s inaugural Global Climate Week. This high-level gathering will focus on scaling investment to achieve the ambitions of Global Climate Week by mobilizing capital from public, private, and philanthropic sources. Designed as a solutions-driven convening, the Nature Summit will convene, curate, and catalyze impact-driven partnerships to translate Global Climate Week momentum into tangible investments that accelerate the transition toward a nature-positive economy.

Among the distinguished confirmed speakers are Robert Mærsk Uggla, Chairman of Mærsk, and Lord Fatafehi Fakafanua, Speaker of Parliament for the Kingdom of Tonga. Their participation underscores the Nature Summit’s commitment to fostering cross-sectoral collaboration, uniting influential decision-makers to drive meaningful change.

The Nature Summit aims to unlock sustainable investment opportunities by bringing together family offices, multilateral development banks, sovereign wealth funds, entrepreneurs, private sector leaders, and impact-driven investors.

Panama’s selection as the host nation underscores its commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development. As one of the world’s few net-negative emission countries and a founding member of the Group of Negative Emitters (GONE), Panama is setting the global benchmark for aligning economies with nature. With COP30, the “Nature COP,” on the horizon, Panama is positioned as the strategic hub for mobilizing public, private, and philanthropic investment in nature-based climate solutions, ensuring global decision-makers are aligned ahead of key climate, biodiversity, and land restoration negotiations.

Minister Juan Carlos Navarro from Panama’s Ministry of Environment emphasized Panama’s unique position as a host for this global convening.

“Panama is a bridge between continents and a global leader in environmental stewardship. Hosting the Nature Summit alongside the UNFCCC’s Global Climate Week allows us to bring together key stakeholders across government, finance, and industry to accelerate investment in nature-based solutions. We are committed to leveraging our position as a net-negative emission country to scale solutions that not only protect biodiversity and combat climate change but also drive sustainable economic growth.”

The summit’s agenda will focus on mobilizing capital for large-scale nature investments, scaling regenerative industries and carbon markets, transforming blue ports and decarbonizing shipping, developing AI and data centers powered by clean energy, accelerating circular economy innovations, and catalyzing transformative impact-driven partnerships. By convening leading investors and decision-makers, the Nature Summit will drive systemic investment strategies that accelerate nature-based economic transformation at scale.

The Nature Summit will take place at the iconic Biomuseo—Panama’s Biodiversity Museum—designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry. This stunning venue, with its bold architecture and immersive exhibits, provides the perfect setting for convening global leaders dedicated to advancing the blue and green economy. Surrounded by breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the lush biodiversity of Panama, the Biomuseo embodies the spirit of innovation and sustainability that the Nature Summit seeks to inspire.

Co-Hosts and Strategic Leadership

The Nature Summit is being co-hosted by PVBLIC Foundation and Global Resilience Partners, two organizations deeply committed to leveraging strategic partnerships to accelerate sustainable development.

Sergio Fernandez de Cordova, Executive Chairman of PVBLIC Foundation, emphasized the importance of convening leaders across sectors to drive investment.

“The Nature Summit is not just another conference—it is a catalyst for capital deployment. By bringing together governments, private sector leaders, and philanthropic partners, we are creating a space where financial commitments can be structured into real investments. This is about mobilizing capital at scale to accelerate climate solutions.”

Family Offices for Sustainable Development (FOSD), an initiative established in 2020 by the UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund and PVBLIC Foundation, will play a key role in mobilizing family offices from around the world to participate in this global forum, ensuring that private capital is effectively channeled into nature-based solutions.

Amir Dossal, Vice-Chairman of Global Resilience Partners and Founder of Global Partnerships Forum, highlighted the summit’s role in fostering cross-sector partnerships.

“Tackling the environmental challenges of our time requires an unprecedented level of collaboration between governments, businesses, and impact-driven investors. The Nature Summit will provide a platform where these key players can align their efforts to develop actionable, nature-based solutions. This summit is an opportunity to drive meaningful change at scale, and we are proud to co-host this initiative in Panama.”
