These amendments mark a pivotal step in aligning industry-based sustainability disclosures under the ISSB framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The revisions include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <strong>comprehensive review<\/strong> of nine industries\u2014eight in Extractives &amp; Minerals Processing and the Processed Foods sector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Targeted metric alignment<\/strong> across 41 more industries, focusing on water management, labor practices, and workforce health &amp; safety.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Updates to <strong>Industry-based Guidance on IFRS S2<\/strong>, ensuring consistency with SASB\u2019s climate-related disclosures for 46 industries in total.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-key-moment-for-global-feedback\">A Key Moment for Global Feedback<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;This comprehensive review for nine industries further aligns the language and concepts in the SASB Standards with the ISSB Standards,&#8221;<\/em> said <strong>Sue Lloyd, ISSB Vice-Chair<\/strong>. <em>&#8220;For our stakeholders, this is the first noteworthy opportunity to weigh in comprehensively on the content of the SASB Standards in the context of the ISSB Standards.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The consultation invites stakeholders\u2014including <strong>investors, preparers, regulators, and auditors<\/strong>\u2014to submit feedback over a 150-day comment period, ending <strong>30 November 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-supporting-global-implementation\">Supporting Global Implementation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The changes are part of ISSB\u2019s 2024\u20132026 work plan to strengthen the <strong>decision-usefulness and cost-effectiveness<\/strong> of sustainability disclosures. The SASB Standards, which cover <strong>77 industries<\/strong>, are a key reference for companies applying the ISSB Standards (IFRS S1 and IFRS S2), particularly for identifying material sustainability-related risks and opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These proposals also respond to growing demand for <strong>interoperability<\/strong>, informed by regular engagement with groups such as <strong>GRI, EFRAG, and the TNFD<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-facilitating-easier-participation\">Facilitating Easier Participation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To simplify feedback, the ISSB has launched an <strong>interactive online survey<\/strong> and published a clean version of the SASB exposure draft. Timely translations are also in development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-s-next\">What\u2019s Next<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The ISSB aims to finalize the enhancements in <strong>2026<\/strong>, after evaluating public input.
