According to the report, <em>\u201cThe majority of companies surveyed (87%) have maintained or increased their investment in business sustainability since the beginning of 2025.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite political pushback against ESG, many firms are ramping up sustainability efforts quietly. While 48% report no change to their strategies, 31% are investing more but promoting it less. Another 8% have gone entirely silent publicly but continue full implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-sustainability-linked-to-customer-retention-and-risk-management\">Sustainability Linked to Customer Retention and Risk Management<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Leaders agree that sustainability enhances competitiveness\u201462% of directors and VPs and 59% of C-suite executives say supply chain sustainability helps attract and retain customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cSustainability isn\u2019t just about values \u2013 it\u2019s about competitiveness,\u201d <\/em>the report states, underscoring the behind-the-scenes impact of ESG on brand, resilience, and cost efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-deregulation-seen-as-a-major-supply-chain-threat\">Deregulation Seen as a Major Supply Chain Threat<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Nearly half of C-suite leaders (47%) believe ESG rollbacks will disrupt supply chains. Another 41% warn it will raise consumer prices by complicating responses to climate-related shocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cResilient leaders are acting now,\u201d EcoVadis notes. Their strategies are rooted in five key accelerators identified in the Sustainable Procurement Barometer.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only 5% of executives believe cutting ESG rules would have no impact, while 39% of C-suite executives expect reduced access to critical resources like food, water, and minerals. Only 53% are on track for California\u2019s SB 253 and the EU\u2019s CSRD. Readiness drops to 44% for the EU\u2019s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism and 39% for Canada\u2019s Modern Slavery Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Compounding the challenge, <em>\u201c33% of leaders admit to knowingly reporting ESG data that was based on estimates \u2013 even if they knew it was not accurate,\u201d<\/em> highlighting a trust gap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-technology-investments-aim-to-close-gaps\">Technology Investments Aim to Close Gaps<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To bridge compliance and data accuracy challenges, firms are investing in ESG tech.
