The initiative will gather input from stakeholders and the public to better identify bottlenecks and opportunities for scaling up circular economy practices across the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-strategic-objectives\">Strategic Objectives<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Due for adoption in 2026, the Circular Economy Act aims to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Establish a Single Market for secondary raw materials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increase the supply and demand for high-quality recycled materials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthen the EU\u2019s economic security, resilience, competitiveness, and decarbonisation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The proposal builds on recommendations from the Letta and Draghi reports, industry commitments in the Antwerp Declaration, and positions from the European Council\u2019s Budapest Declaration and the European Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-policy-integration-and-global-leadership-target\">Policy Integration and Global Leadership Target<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Act is designed to align with major EU strategies such as the Competitiveness Compass, the Single Market Strategy, and the Steel and Metals Action Plan.
