Peace Boat Returns to NYC June 29 for High-Level UN Event on Disarmament and Peacebuilding

Peace Boat to Host UN Event on Nuclear Disarmament in NYC

Peace Boat will dock in Manhattan on June 29–30, 2025, hosting an exclusive event titled “Time for Peace: For Future Generations” onboard its ship in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA).

The event will explore the past, present, and future of nuclear disarmament, highlighting the devastating consequences of nuclear weapons and spotlighting efforts by civil society and international institutions to eliminate them.

Featuring Survivors, Youth, and Artists

Panels will include first-hand testimonies from survivors, youth perspectives on peacebuilding, and contributions from subject matter experts.

Art will play a central role in awareness efforts. Attendees will be invited to tour the outreach edition of the Nobel Peace Center’s “A Message to Humanity” exhibition, featuring exhibits from Nihon Hidankyo and photography by Magnum’s Antoine d’Agata.

A networking reception will follow the program.

“Time for Peace: For Future Generations” is an invitation-only event. Participants will need to register with a code provided by Peace Boat or its partners.
