A Corporate Leader on Climate Action

Erin Meezan is Chief Sustainability Officer at JLL (Fortune 200, NYSE: JLL), where she plays a dual role—advancing the firm’s ESG commitments, including its ambitious Net Zero 2040 goal, while also serving on the leadership team of JLL’s Sustainability Services and ESG business.

Widely regarded as a creative and influential C-suite leader, she brings more than two decades of experience in ESG and corporate sustainability. Her career has been dedicated to building strategies that move beyond compliance, embedding sustainability into operations, innovation, and product development.

Global Voice for Sustainability

Meezan sits on the Corporate Advisory Board of the World Green Building Council and represents JLL at the World Economic Forum. She is also an accomplished keynote speaker, addressing senior management teams, universities, and audiences across the U.S., Europe, China, and Singapore.

Her commentary on ESG and climate has been featured in leading publications including the Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, New York Times Magazine, Fortune, Forbes, Edie, and GreenBiz. Her most recent TED talk highlights what nature can teach us about sustainable business. She also appeared in the award-winning documentary Beyond Zero by Nathan Harvey, chronicling Interface’s corporate transformation.

From Environmental Lawyer to Regenerative Business Champion

Before joining JLL in 2022, Meezan spent 18 years at Interface, Inc., a pioneering flooring company founded by Ray Anderson. As Chief Sustainability Officer, she led a global team to reimagine the company’s supply chain and product development through innovations like carbon-negative products and factories designed to function like forests.

In 2016, she spearheaded the launch of Climate Take Back, a bold mission to reverse global warming and create a climate fit for life. By collaborating with partners such as Biomimicry 3.8, she helped shape the concept of regenerative business, moving beyond “doing less harm” to actively restoring ecosystems.

Meezan’s journey from trained environmental lawyer to global sustainability leader reflects her enduring commitment: remaking business to function in a regenerative way.
