This figure continues to increase every year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>China is the biggest emitter of CO2 in the world, with\u00a0<strong>10668 MtCO\u2082<\/strong>. But the US has emitted the most of all time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The energy sector accounts for\u00a0<strong>75.6%<\/strong>\u00a0of global greenhouse gas emissions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Facts About Greenhouse Gases<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Contrary to popular belief, not all GHGs are bad. They occur naturally, and if we didn\u2019t have any GHGs in our atmosphere at all, then the Earth would become too cold and much of the life we know would be unable to survive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Climate change is caused by&nbsp;<em>an excess<\/em>&nbsp;of greenhouse gases. When we have more GHGs in the atmosphere than the Earth can naturally absorb, they trap excess heat, and the global temperature increases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-greenhouse-gases-breakdown\"><strong>Greenhouse Gases Breakdown<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Greenhouse gases (GHGs), including carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), and fluorinated gases, trap heat in the atmosphere, leading to global warming.
